About the project
Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter Fireboy DML has released ZUKO!, his fifth studio album, adding another chapter to his evolving musical career. Issued through YBNL Nation and EMPIRE in October 2026, the 13-track project follows his 2024 album Adedamola and brings together Nigerian, Jamaican, and South African artists. The album features collaborations with Judah Earl, Lojay, Masicka, JAZZWRLD, and Thukuthela, expanding the range of sounds explored throughout the collection. Across the project, Fireboy DML combines his recognisable vocal style with Afrobeats, dancehall influences, electronic production, and South African 3-step sounds. The result is a varied body of work that gives listeners a closer look at his continuing artistic development and willingness to explore different musical directions.
The album opens with “DEAR FATHER,” featuring Judah Earl, before moving into “BY FIRE!” and “CLAAT!”, which features Jamaican dancehall artist Masicka. The tracklist continues with “GODDESS,” featuring Lojay, followed by “C’EST LA VIE” and “IMALI,” a collaboration with South African producers JAZZWRLD and Thukuthela. The remaining recordings include “ONE MAN REGIMENT,” “KILOWI,” “ONAZO!,” “SEX LOVE UNDERSTANDING TRUST,” “LIGHT OF DAWN,” “MIMI NAWE,” and “FIGHTING.” Each collaboration introduces a different musical influence, while the solo performances give Fireboy DML room to showcase his songwriting and vocal abilities. The album moves between energetic dance-oriented production, romantic melodies, reflective moments, and more restrained R&B sounds, creating a listening experience that extends beyond one particular genre.
For fans of Fireboy DML and listeners following the latest Nigerian Afrobeats releases, ZUKO! is an album worth exploring from beginning to end. Tracks such as “CLAAT!” and “IMALI” highlight the project's international collaborations, while “GODDESS” reunites Fireboy DML with Lojay. Meanwhile, songs including “DEAR FATHER” and “FIGHTING” bring more reflective themes into the collection, giving the album additional emotional range. Listeners can find ZUKO! on Apple Music, Spotify, and other digital music platforms to explore the complete 13-track project.
