THE COMPLETE PICTURE

About the project

Amabongwa has released Ingwe, a 10-track Maskandi album that keeps the full spotlight on the artist from beginning to end. Released on 19 October 2026, the project runs for approximately 43 minutes and contains no listed guest features. That solo format gives Ingwe a direct, artist-led identity, allowing listeners to experience the full sequence without collaborations changing the focus. The album opens with “Emkhuze” before moving into its title track, “Ingwe,” placing the project’s central song near the beginning of the tracklist.

After the opening two songs, Amabongwa continues with “Sizinsizwa,” “Ungobese,” and “Iphimbo Lakho.” The middle stretch moves through “Emakhoneni,” “Umntomyama,” and “Yenina Matombazane,” giving the album a clear progression of solo recordings. “Dali” appears as the ninth track, while “Phenduka” closes the 10-song release. Every track is credited to Amabongwa, making Ingwe a straightforward presentation of the artist’s own work and a useful project for listeners wanting to explore the catalogue in its intended order.

Ingwe follows Amabongwa’s earlier 2026 album Indlela, another 10-track release that demonstrated the artist’s commitment to full-length Maskandi projects. With Ingwe, Amabongwa continues that approach through a new collection built around a concise but substantial running time. For Maskandi fans, radio presenters, and music bloggers following South African releases, the album offers ten fresh tracks to discover, from “Emkhuze” and “Ingwe” to the closing “Phenduka.”
