About the project
King Nuba has released Ushamo, a five-track Maskandi EP that pairs concise solo performances with four featured collaborations. Released on 23 October 2026, the project runs for approximately 24 minutes and places its title track at the centre of the sequence. Although often described as an album release, current platform listings identify Ushamo as an EP. The project opens with “Ungibhale,” featuring KAMAPHANGA, before moving into “uNkulunkulu Uyazi” with 2Short, establishing a collaborative direction from the start.
The third track, “Ushamo,” brings King Nuba together with Njabulo Langa, giving the project’s title a central collaborative moment. “Isifo Sokuwa” then returns the focus to King Nuba alone, creating the EP’s key solo entry. The final song, “Nawe Bayakujolela,” features Inkosi Yasezweni, closing the project with another featured appearance. This structure gives listeners three collaborations and two solo cuts, making the release varied without losing its focus on King Nuba as the lead artist.
Ushamo follows King Nuba’s 2026 album Idayimane, a 13-track project that showed the artist’s ability to work across both solo and collaborative recordings. With this newer release, King Nuba takes a more compact approach, using five songs to spotlight partnerships with KAMAPHANGA, 2Short, Njabulo Langa, and Inkosi Yasezweni. For Maskandi fans looking for a short but complete new project, Ushamo offers a direct five-song journey with a clear track order and a strong list of guest artists.
