About the project
Mjabulisi released 1 Minute Away on 8 October 2026, presenting a 17-track Maskandi album with a runtime of just over one hour. The project opens with “Sekuphelel Konke” before moving into its title track, “1 MINUTE AWAY,” giving listeners an immediate introduction to the album’s central name and structure.
The tracklist balances solo recordings with a wide guest lineup. “ISGEBENGU” features UMnotho and Yolokazi Mngomeni, while Jikijiki, Shenge Wasehlalankosi, Banele Mazulu, kaMaphanga, Mnqobi Yazo, Malibongwe, USduh Dladla, and Uqoqa also appear across the release. UMnotho returns on several songs, including “AMANYALA,” “UHLULEKILE,” and “SENGITHATHIWE.”
With entries such as “UTHINI NGENHLIZIYO,” “ISDALA SAMI,” “ZWANATHI,” “NEXT-DOOR,” “SHEMBE,” and closing track “Amathuna,” 1 Minute Away gives Mjabulisi room to lead the album while welcoming several distinct collaborators. It is a substantial 2026 Maskandi release for listeners looking for both solo material and feature-driven moments.
